Welcome to Happily Distracted
Happily Distracted Permaculture is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit educational organization. Our mission is to teach, demonstrate and happily spread the word about Permaculture worldwide. We are located just south of Asheville, N.C. in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains (part of the Southern Appalachians).
We offer live workshops, an Introduction to Permaculture course, and the accredited 72-hour Online Permaculture Design Certificate Course (PDC).
Our teaching methods are interactive, creative, and are designed to create a low-stress and enjoyable experience for the students. Both the Introduction to Permaculture course and the full Permaculture Design Course follow the official guidelines for teaching Permaculture as directed by Bill Mollison. The PDC course follows the topics in Mollison’s book, Permaculture: A Designer’s Manual, which is considered by many to be the foundation text of Permaculture.

The most remarkable feature of this historical moment on Earth is not that we are on the way to destroying the world - we've actually been on the way for quite a while.
